Turning on IP Routing

If, on a layer three switch, i turn on ip routing, without doing anything else, will it continue to behave as it has been, acting as an access switch?

By entering the ip routing command, you enable the layer 3 functions of the switch, so if you have configured virtual interfaces (SVI) they will start to communicate with each other, just like in a router.
