User Tracking discovery can not stop

I am using user tracking of Campus Manager 3.3

The User Tracking discovery has run a long time and seems not to stop.

From the discovery status, I see that the ANI Discovery is stopped and the User Tracking Discovery is still running.

How can I stop the discovery process ?

Hi, Jhcc

Try using this document below for troubleshooting ANI/UT problems. I scan through the document and it does not have exactly the problem that your having but it is a start.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps563/products_tech_note09186a0080094949.shtml

Let us know if this helps your problem.

Thanks. I have read the document, but still does not know what is the problem.

I have tried to stop and re-start the ANI process. But whenever I start the process, User Tracking is discoverying and seems not to stop.

In the CiscoWorks configuration, I just can't find a process that is relative to the user tracking discovery.

Not sure if this is what's happening, but you could disable 'ping sweeps' in User Tracking.

Hi jhcc !

We experiene the same problem.

i opened the TAC case and cisco offer many solutions what con not help.

They give a special file ( Unfortunetly i do not remember the file name ) for debug and this file helped us. We can not find the cause of problem but UT works correctly.

Now i upgraded the IDU 9 and we see the same problem.

I open the TAC case again and wait for the answer from cisco.

There are no exact solution to this time for this problem.

I am havin the same problem.

I am also running Campus Manager 3.3 with IDU 10.0 installed.

The ANI discovery works fine, but User Tracking discovery never completes. I have tried reinitializing the user tracking database, but it does not help.

I think we have a bug... Let me know if you've found a way to fix the problem.

I had this problem, a couple of things to look at:

Frequency: of the user tracking polling--about every 4 hours works for 600 devices otherwise they may step on each other.

Performance: In a multi CPU box you should be able to use about 115% CPU usage.

Once all the settings have been checked or tweeked reboot the server. Last Cisco website or TAC has a procedure to do a re-index of the data.

This fixed the never ending discovery...
