Can anyone see a reason that it would be bad to use 169.254.0.0/24 for a management interface on all my equipment?

I wouldn't recommend 169.254.0.0 as an IP address.
This 169.254.x.x address, although not an officially private address is generally a part of a block reserved by for showing errors in getting DHCP addresses.

True and especially because it is not an official private subnet, you would not want to use it for internal systems.
If you're unlucky, someday you need to contact some external party that uses these addresses. Then you're confronted with routing and NAT issues.

I think the possibility of contacting some external party who uses these addresses externally is pretty remote.
I think the biggest negative about using these addresses for management addresses is the possibility that some Windows machine will attempt DHCP, not get assigned an address, and choose to use an address out of the 169.254 range which duplicates the address you have chosen on one of your devices.
