We are running Ciscoworks 3.0.1 on ESX 3.5. I know VM's don't handle Java well without doing some tuning. Does Cisco provide any guidelines for VM tuning for Ciscoworks?
Not yet. The Technical Marketing Engineers are working on a virtualization white paper, though. However, I haven't seen any tips on tuning VMWare for Java. The only thing we now recommend is a CPU which is optimized for virtualization.
