VSM cannot create VDS n1000v

I've been trying to get the v1K VSM installed but always getting stuck at getting the VSM to connect to the VCenter.

I get this:

n1000v(config-svs-conn)# connect
ERROR:  [VMware vCenter Server 5.5.0 build-1476327] A VDS n1000v with spec.name as n1000v already exists, cannot create VDS n1000v. A specified parameter was not correct.
spec.name.

I've manually deleted the n1000v from my VCenter and I can see the folder is recreated when I try to connect but there is nothing beneath it.  No vds.

My config:

n1000v# show svs connections

connection vc1000:
    ip address: 192.168.0.21
    remote port: 80
    protocol: vmware-vim https
    certificate: default
    datacenter name: Development
    admin:
    max-ports: 8192
    DVS uuid: -
    config status: Enabled
    operational status: Disconnected
    sync status: -
    version: -
    vc-uuid: -
    ssl-cert: -

I've reinstalled the OVA many times and changes the extension-key in my vcenter but it always gets stuck at the connect.

I've looked at a lot of videos/pages and they don't describe this.  One cisco page does but does not describe how to solve it.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, I have to answer my own question.

I went in and changed the switch name to 'metro' and now it connects correctly.  I still don't know why 'n1000v', the default did not work.
