WAN port priority?

I have a Cisco 2911 router with one switch port module.

It it utilizes 2 of its GigabitEthernet ports to access two different WANs

we will call them WAN1(GE0/0)and WAN2(GE0/1)

i have two vlans set up on the switch ports

we will call them vlan 5 and 15

i I have a windows machine with 2 NICs

we will call them NIC1 and NIC2

NIC 1 connects to vlan 15 which connects to WAN1

NIC 2 connects to vlan 5 which connects to WAN 2

wan 1 and vlan 15 are seldom used. If I do use vlan 15 , I am not able to switch back to vlan 5 without shutting rebooting the router and vice versa.

is  there a way to circumvent this issue, could I switch between WAN/vlan connections whenever I want without reloading the router. Does this issue have to do with my wan connections, my vlan settings, or my NIC?

Hi, I don't fully understand what you are trying to do... for sure there is no need to reboot the router.

How do you switch the connection? Why do you need 2 separate VLANs (opposed to pure routing on the router)?

How long did you wait when switching the connection? could there be a STP timer (it is close to one minute)?

Can you ping the default gateway when you switch? What about an external IP address?
