I want to have a copy of my device config files before I uninstall my Ciscoworks server. Are the config files encrypted and must need to use Ciscowork to read it, or they are just ASCII files that I can read it by notepad? If I can read it by notepad, where are those config files stored at (which directory)?
Thanks

Look in your %NMSROOT%\files\archives\shadow directory. You should be able to open the configs in notepad with no problem.

on Windows:
CSCOpx\files\archive\config
CSCOpx\files\archive\shadow
on Solaris:
/var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/config
/var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/shadow
there are subdirectories below each path
in the config directory, there are folders/directories which are numbered, each
number represents a device in RME.
Where the shadow directory is separated by device type and each directory is named via a device's ip address
Hope that helps
