The product is processor-agnostic. As long as your server meets the generic processor requirements in the specifications, it should run fine. As a 6-core Nehalem EX class CPU, the Intel E7540 is fine. Note that LMS is very multithreaded and multiprocessor-aware. So, more CPUs and cores will definitely help your performance.
Also, do NOT skimp on RAM. RAM is cheap - I'd go ahead and double the minimum specified in the product document just to have plenty of breathing room. You won't regret the small upfront investment.
