access-list still needed with the PAT

Hi,

can anyone please let me know an if access-list is still needed with the following PAT entry on asa firewall

static (Inside,Outside) tcp 77.x.x.x  port1288 192.168.x.x port25 netmask 255.255.255.255

Hi,

If you mean if you will need an ACL rule to allow traffic from outside to inside then the answer is yes.

You will need to allow the traffic from the Internet to that public IP address to the mentioned public port in the configuration.

Thanks i agree. someone mentioned acl would not be needed. just wanted to confirm
