Hi Folks,
I have a pair of Cisco 2901s that I use as terminal servers to provide console access to a devices in a data center. This works fine for everything except for my ASA firewalls.
When I connect to the ASAs, it seems that a stream of input is cached, and it takes between 5 and 10 minutes before the console is useable. The output consists of the hostnames of other devices that are connected to the 2901s (followed by error messages such as 'Bad IP address or host name' , '% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.' etc).
This does not happen when I connect directly to the ASA with a console cable. The ASAs are the only devices affected - I also have catalyst switches, ASR routers and nexus switches connected to the 2901s which are accessible without any problems.
I have tried reloading both the ASAs and the 2901s without success.
ASA is running 9.5(2)
2901 is running 15.4(3)M2
I'm concerned that this could delay access to the ASA console in an emergency or site down scenario.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darragh
