Adding more devices to a virtual FirePower Management Center FS-VMW-2-SW-K9

Hello everyone!

At the moment we have 2 ASA5525-X with Firepower Services running on our FPMC which is licensed as FS-VMW-2-SW-K9.

We plan to expand our environment up to 4 ASAs with FirepowerServices running.

Whats the correct way to do this?

Can we buy another FS-VMW-2-SW-K9 and add it under the System > Licenses tab or do we have to buy a FS-VMW-10-SW-K9 and register the PAK with the LicenseID of the current ManagementCenter and add it then under System > Licenses?

What happens with the already registered 2-Device-License? Can we rehost it if necessary?

Or do we have to do a new install from scratch, install the FS-VMW-10-SW-K9 license and import all rules, devices and so on?

You cannot add additional 2 device licenses to the base 2 licenses.

So you would have to add a new 10 device license replacing the current one.

You can rehost the 2 device license elsewhere if you have a separate Manager you are spinning up. It seldom makes sense to run multiple FirePOWER Managers unless you have a multi tenancy setup.
