ASA 5505, Download Speed initially fast, then slowing down

Hello Together

We run a proxy server in the DMZ of our ASA 5505. The ASA is connected to a cable modem. If we download something (microsoft downloads, etc.) the starts accurate with about 1,5 - 2,4 MB/sec then drops down to 300-400KB/sec. The same thing happens with direct connection to the firewall from LAN Interface. If we connect a PC directly to the cable modem the speed is steady.

Are there any parameters in the ASA configuration that could slow down traffic or connections ?

You could take packet captures with and without the ASA to look at any TCP related errors and the MSS size etc.

Also try to disable any inspections you don't require like netbios, IPT etc.
