I have an ASA 5505 at a small site and the ISP assigns my outside interface an IP address and default gateway. However, when power goes out (I know I need to get battery backup), my ASA loses its IP address and default gateway. It will not get it back automatically.
Is there a command on the ASA to request the dhcp address again from the ISP versus having to reboot it every time? I have looked for commands to use with no success...

Have you tried to remove/add the ip address command from the VLAN interface when the problem occurs? For example, issue a "no ip address dhcp setroute" and then "ip address dhcp setroute" under the corresponding VLAN interface.

Yes - I have tried to shut down and no shut the interface, I have tried to remove the "IP address dhcp set route" command with no success. I am using version 8.0.
