We recently moved off our older ASA5510 hardware platform is favor of a 5506-X. After the upgrade we started noticing some extremely odd behavior on the 5506 forcing us back to the 5510. On the 5510 we routinely saw 500-1000 connections per-second across all networks behind the firewall. On the 5506 our observed connection count is often 10K and quickly goes above the 20K maximum. Below is an image of the device with only a single PC client attached.
There are approximately 15 clients (phones/tablets/PCs) and an additional 15 IOT devices behind the firewall. We're running 9.1(7)32 on the 5510 and 9.10(1)11 on the 5506-X.
Does the newer hardware count connections differently than the older or is there a bug I'm not aware of?
