The file you uploaded is not valid for the ASA 5506-X. You should be using the one found here:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286283326/type/280775065/release/9.16.1

"asa-9-16-1-lfbff-k8.SPA" (or preferably 9.16.2 if you are going with the 9.16 release train).

Note the "SPA" string in the file extension - that indicates it is a digitally signed image which is required for the ASA 5506-X series.

Hi Marvin,

Thank you for the help. but I can't download it because don't have contract with Cisco.

If you (or your company) don't have a service contract then you are generally not entitled to download and install the software.

I was able to find online asa9-14-8-lfbff-k8.SPA   it worked but won't save the configurations for some reason.

If i reboot it or turn it off it lose everything . i mean i will go back to Rommon level so I have to upload the image using TFTP.

As of now it is working but it feels something not right!!

While not endorsing use of unlicensed software, failure to save the config across reboot is generally due to the config-register not being set properly.

Try using "config-register 0x1".
