Why does the ASA 5506-x 9.8 with ASDM 7.8 have to have an older browser that takes Java. The more secure browsers of Chrome and Firefox now no longer support Java so an older version of these browsers have to be installed for ASDM to work and show the FirePOWER config tab. How is this secure at all? It is just my opinion that a security device should use the more secure browsers. HTML 5 would be great but from what I have heard Cisco has Java people working for them and things have now moved to HTML 5 instead of Java since the newer version of browsers no long support Java which has security issues. It is just something I have been wondering now that I have done my CCNA Security class and have the certification as well. Does anyone know why and can explain it to me? Please and thank you.
