Hello All,
I am having an issue with inserting additional licenses to our ASA 5506-X with FirePOWER.
Device is running ASA(9.6.1) + FirePOWER (6.2.0.2-51) and being configured and controlled through ASDM (7.8.1).
We have purchased TAMC license pak (for AMP and url filtering...etc) and converted to smart license.
It all went thru OK but the problem now is that when I access ASA firepower configuration menu/licensing it only provides a classic licensing process with license key and that, but we have a smart license setup. I actually dont know how to implement it, there is no way in my menus to register mz device with smart software license manager.
Thanks for your help/guides/inputs in advance!!!

The ASA with FirePOWER services module managed by ASDM does not support Smart licenses.
Smart licenses (in security, currently) are generally for FTD devices. The only time you use them with an ASA is for the ASAv or an ASA logical device running on a FirePOWER 4100 or 9300 series appliance).
Note the Quick Start Guide directs you to use PAK-based lilcenses:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/quick_start/5506X/5506x-quick-start.html#pgfId-144452
The "ASA with FirePOWER Services Local Management Configuration Guide, Version 6.2" further confirms this:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/620/asa-fp-services/asa-with-firepower-services-local-management-configuration-guide-v620/Licensing.html#48506
Before you add a license to the ASA FirePOWER module, make sure you have the activation key provided by Cisco when you purchased the license.
