ASA 5510 Active/Standby Help

I have 2 5510's in active/standby. The primary will run fine for about an hour and then the unit will stop passing traffic. I have to force the standby unit to be active. The outside interface on the failed unit shows (waiting). I can ping the outside interface from the failed unit but not from the switch that it is plugged into. If i restart the firewall then all is well.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The one recommedation i got from TAC is to put a switch in middle of the ASA instead of connecting them both using a cross cable. So your scenario would like asa-str cable--switch--str cable--asa.

Ended up being bad hardware. Received replacement firewall and all is working
