Hi,
I have 2 ASA 5510 and i want to create failover between them.
The 2 ASAs have the Security Plus license and 3DES enable.
But when I try to create the failover i obtain the following error message "Hardware module compatibility for platform failed"
See the following "show ver" wich confirm the 2 ASA have an identical hardware and fonctionnality.
The only difference is:
Hardware: ASA5510, 256 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 4 Celeron 1600 MHz
Hardware: ASA5510-K8, 256 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 4 Celeron 1600 MHz

You are probably trying to do that through ASDM, try it via CLI and it should work.
It happened to me. I dont know if it's an ASDM bug.

Issue the commands :
sh module
See if there is a module installed in one of the,If yes, hardware is not same and you would need to remove it from one of the units.

I resolve the problem.
One ASA was in mode single and the other in mode multiple.

Hello mathieuchanu,
I have the same issue.
Did you have done the configuration by CLI or ASDM?
