My firewall is taking down outside interface from time to time.
The device is sending the following trap to syslog server:
"Interface down : ifIndex: 1, ifAdminStatus: down, ifOperStatus: down "
Any suggestion?
regards,
Juan.

Have you eliminated a cabling fault?
Have you tried swapping interface on the ASA?

Handsy:
thanks for your repply.
Yesterday I changed the switch that connect to the outside interface. Up to now the outside interface does not go down again.
Is it possible that the ASA take down the interface when receive an attack from the internet?
... or in case that the problem happend again should I try to swap the interface ?

The ASA should not take down an interface when being attacked, it will just drop/reset connections.
It sounds like you had a faulty switch, or switch port.
If this happens again, swap cable, then change to a different interface.
These things are a process of elimination before you can get to the bottom of them :)

Good luck!
