Hi. I set up an ASA 5520, and while consoled into it all seems well. I did some basic tests, can get out to the internet and all is well. I plug a client into it, and it gets its dhcp address just fine, including dns, gateway etc. however the client cant get to the internet... even trying to ping via IP address, not even dns...yet the asa can ping the same address just fine! Attached is my config.

Hi,
Same problem as last time, mx. You have no translations.
Put in something like:
nat (inside) 1 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0
global (outside) 1 interface.
You should also write up an ACL for the inside interface.

Glen youre right! This might bring up a bigger question, why does it not keep its config? GRRR. This is about the 20th one Ive installed yet this is the one giving me all the trouble. I wonder if Im just chasing my tail. Im going to format and reload I think. It doesnt help that Im losing my mind either ;-) Thank you.
I did notice that when I enter dhcpd entries, they do not keep. An hour or a day later lines are missing, yet it hasnt been rebooted. I should track it more carefully and report it as a bug if necessary.
