ASA 5550 standby- need to get SN info remotely

I need to get the SN info and hardware info from my standby ASA remotely. Is there a way to do it? I tried to SSH to the standby using the standby IP address, and I can't connect. I was able to do that with the PIX 535. I also tried via the ADSM and can't connect, and logged into the Active Primary and issued various commands but it only gives info on the Active.

Hi,

Try this,

When you are connected to Active box and want to run command on standby use following

failover exec standby ,   for ex: failover exec standby sh ver

Command reference: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/command/reference/ef.html#wp1929296

I hope this will help.

Shahid,

Awesome response!

Kristen,

You should take care of why you are not able to ssh or asdm to the sec/standby unit.

Pls. refer this link and run through the checklist: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13012
