Hello

Looking for input on below questions for ASA 5540 running 8.2

  1. All Web Browsing Traffic for LAN users passes the ASA Firewall running 8.2. Can I control Bandwidth limit for users for sending and receiving web traffic.
  2. ASA running 8.2 which ASDM version do I need to install on my machine to access the Firewall using Graphical Interface. Do I also need any other image on the ASA itself.
  3. I need to enable Netflow on the ASA anything to watchout.

Thanks

ST

1. No, you can't configure bandwidth control on ASA to limit web browsing traffic per user.

2. You would need the ASDM image on the ASA to be able to browse to the ASA via GUI. However, you do not need to install the software (ASDM) on your PC, after enabling HTTP server as well as configuring your subnet/ip address on the interface that you would like to access the GUI from, you can just use browser and https to the ip address of the ASA interface that you configure to have GUI access.

Here is the configuration guide for your reference:

3. Netflow is ok on ASA. It's a new feature introduced in version 8.1 for ASA5580, and version 8.2 for other ASA models.
