ASA Clustering

Hello Community,

I plan to configure a cluster of ASA5585. In the document "Configuring a Cluster of ASAs" are only examples for Control Link Redundancy  with VSS or vPC. As switch we using 65er but they don´t support VSS/vPC.

How can the control-link configured without VSS, whta are teh possibilities?

Hello Ingo,

VSS/vPC is one of the deployment options available to customers. You could also deploy ASA clustering with a standalone Cat6k or N7k switches. In this case, the deployment would be firewall on a stick scenario, where switch is a single point of failure.

All data-links and CCL links from the ASA cluster would terminate on the standalone switch.
