ASA Firewall and IPS function

Hi,

If I wish to enable IPS and firewall functions in a single ASA 5540 (deploy behind a internet router), may I know which function will serve first, or is it up to us to configure?

The traffic will first reach the firewall and then the IPS, have a look at this link:
