ASA v8.3 - ASDM Setup issue

jnrnetworks
Level 1
Level 1

I'm running ASA v8.3.1 and trying to run ASDM but it won't load in my IE browser.

Below is my config.  The ASA's internal IP is 172.16.0.1 and I'm accessing it from a server on the 172.16.0.x network via IE by typing https://172.16.0.1/admin.  IE says page cannot be displayed.

asdm image disk0:/asdm-635.bin
asdm history enable

http server enable
http 172.16.0.0 255.255.255.0 inside

Thanks for the help

James,

I wrote this document to troubleshoot management access to the ASA.

Let us run through this checklist and see if we can resolve this issue.

unable to asdm is the first one on the list.

Thank you.  For me, it was the ssl encryption line as it only had 3des-sha1 turned on.  When I added the other stuff, it magically worked.

James,

Very glad to hear that the document that I wrote helped resolve your problem. Thanks for rating the post. Pls. consider making this post resolved.

Also don't forget my ATE event starting on Jan 3rd 2011 here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/ask-the-expert

I would be happy to mark it as resolved but I can't find anywhere to do that.  Can you help me as I must be missing something.
