I have a asa5500x-ssd120 SSD from an ASA5500-X that is opal locked. It is a micron drive. I saw some commands to revert revert or remove the psid for the 3100 Series if I'm not mistaken but those commands are only for that series. There are some raid commands for this series but his is only a single drive chassis so it does not have any of those commands. The micron tool i downloaded could not revert the psid. It erased it but didnt unlock it which seems odd. Any suggestions on how to remove the psid opal lock?

I believe Cisco intentionally locks these to make them not reusable outside the ASA appliance. After all, isn't it a good idea to secure the drive for a security appliance using the most secure method available?

I tried to erase it with 3rd party software and it is locked so we have to destroy if we cannot erase it with the software for compliance purposes.
