ASA5545-IPS and ASA5555-IPS deployment guide

Hello,

I need to know about the deployment of the IPS in the network. Also, is it possible to monitor the interfaces of other firewall like Checkpoint/Juniper with the ASA-IPS. If yes, how will the configuration be done and what is the pre-requiiste in the physical setup.

Moreover, what actions will be required to get the traffic scanned via this IPS.

Hello,

You will be able to monitor any traffic that flows through the ASA where this IPS belongs to!

If traffic for the other firewalls passes trough this FW/IPS then yes, you will be able to inspect it

what actions will be required to get the traffic scanned via this IPS.

• Inittial setup of the IPS (Configure managment IP address, Virtual sensors , DNS servers, license for additional features, etc)
• Configure the ASA to send the traffic to the IPS (with the Modular Policy Frame-work configuration)
