ASA5550 CPU utilisation

Hi All,

I have observed the below output from my cisco ASA5550, Please let me know what is the real difference between these two:

# sh cpu detailed

Break down of per-core data path versus control point cpu usage:
Core 5 sec 1 min 5 min
Core 0 43.7 (0.0 + 43.7) 31.7 (0.0 + 31.7) 25.6 (0.0 + 25.6)

Current control point elapsed versus the maximum control point elapsed for:
5 seconds = 100.0%; 1 minute: 100.0%; 5 minutes: 100.0%

# sh cpu usage
CPU utilization for 5 seconds = 35%; 1 minute: 35%; 5 minutes: 27%

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Varindersingh106

Under normal conditions, the CPU should stay below 50%, if the firewall reaches 100% it starts to discard packets.
You could enter the command:
show processes cpu-usage sorted non-zero
And check out which process is taking up most of the CPU.
