ASDM-IDM Demo Intrusion Prevention

Hi,

I was planning on using the demo as part of studying for CCNP security rather than buying any equipment. However when I use  this it doesnt come up with the module or the options I see in the book. Is there something I am missing? Does anyone know anyway of getting a demo version of IPS or any other free stuff I can use to simulate this? I dont really use IDS so have no equipment at work dont really want to buy modules for the one exam. Tghe version of ASDM and Demo is 6.4(9).

Hi Stephen,

I use ASDM-IDM launcher v1.5(56) for the same purpose and i am able to open demo for IPS IDM.

When i open the launceher, i check the "Run in Demo Mode" box and select version as 7.1(1) configuration as "Intrusion_Prevention" then it works as desired.

Hi Mashal,

Thanks for the responce. I was using 6.4(9) and although I went to "Intrusion_Prevention" there was never any IPS module. I upgraded to 7.1(3) and it now works fine. I dont know it was missing in older version, but at least is now working.
