Hi Guys,

Is it possible to restore a backup to newer version of firepower if that backup was taken from a lower firepower version?

Thanks

No. You must restore to the same version, including VDB and SRU.

What do you do if you need a VDB and SRU that is no longer on the Cisco download page?

If that's the case, you can open a TAC case and request a Special File Publish of the necessary versions.

Once you get everything restored you should institute some operational procedures to keep from getting so far out of date on the versions.

Sorry resurrecting an old thread here but related. If it's better to start a new one let me know. In regards to restoring an FMC backup, is it possible restore a portion of it? Say an ACP or NAT policy and not the entire config?

@Chuck Reimer not via a restore. An ACP can be exported and then imported.
