I have a Cisco ASA5505 and am trying to throttle the bandwidth for my kids consuming all the bandwidth when they watch youtube on their computers and iPads. I know Youtube traffic originates from multiple IP sources, so does anyone know how I can throttle all Youtube traffic within my inside network? I use DHCP and I want to throttle bandwidth for any user in my home network.
Thanks in advance!

I do not think there is any easy way of doing this on the ASA. If you had a router you could easily match on a regex string or URL, but this is not the case with the ASA, as the ASA will only allow you to inspect, drop, log, reset the connection when matching on regex. In addition to that, the inspect policy can not be called into a policy map that is performing shaping or policing.
So if you are not able to put a router in front of the ASA, you will need to match on the IPs.

I was afraid of that and wondering why I wasn't able to google the answer for it. If I set static IPs for the iPad devices in my network, what would be the best way to throttle YouTube bandwidth based on specific matched IPs?

This is good suggestion. I will try it myself
