Behavior of a Firepower Cluster When All Cluster Members Overheat

Hello everyone,

We have a new firewall cluster (active-passive) in our company, consisting of 2x Firepower 1010. A few days ago, the cluster failed for unknown reasons and did not recover on its own. Only a restart was able to resolve the problem.

We have been thinking and researching a bit. It came to our mind that the cluster switches if the active member reaches a temperature above 85°C. We noticed in our monitoring that shortly before the failure, the temperature of both firewalls was around 80°C.

Can someone explain what happens if both members in the cluster exceed 85°C?

(The logs from the firewalls are unfortunately not informative.)

Thank you very much and best regards,

 - I would bring that down to : just operate the devices within supported temperature ranges
