Best location to keep ips in data center scenarios

Dear All,

Pls let me know the best location to keep the ips 4240 in the data center networking scenario given below.

Total ips used : 2 x 4240 with 4 ports

server datails : mail server, Win2003, BDC, SAN etc.

Pix firewalls : 2xpix515E in failover

L3/l4 sws : 2 x 4507R

Put the IPS device behind the router. That way, you will cut down on a lot of false positives.

Thnaks for your info. I need to know more about the setup.

Apart from the router We have 2 core switches with multiple L3 interfaces(subnets)configured.

There 9 servers installed as mail.PDC,BDC, also SAN storage in the network.

Please provide any URL to design the fully secured data center network infrastructure.
