Bulk addition of nodes into Firepower FMC

Greetings,

I found a post that talked about using the host input API (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/60/api/host-input/HostInputAPIGuide.html) but has anyone actually used this and can share the format of the input file(apologies, I'm not a programmer)?

I have about 200 nodes I need to add.  Need to add the following...

Name  Description  IP address

Additionally, if possible I'd also like to have them added to a single group.

thanks.

To use API to import bulk nodes, then you need help by a programmer or start learning a language.
Python is usable in many ways to simplify your day as a fast/lazy network engineer.

When you say nodes do you mean managed sensors? I've never seen an FMC manage that many sensors though I suppose it's technically possible.

There are some scripts used in the Cisco FE training (available to staff and partners only) that automatically add managed sensors to an FMC via API. I used them during that training and they worked great but I didn't take the opportunity to take them apart and examine the mechanics.

Cisco has said they will add more publicly available examples and code snippets with the release of 6.3 later this year.
