Hi,
I cannot SSH to a 5510, but I can ASDM to it with full privileges and make changes.
The message is password authentication failed, but it's the same authentication I used to ASDM. I use passowrd manager, so it's not a typo.
This is version 8.2(2). What do I change logged in under ASDM to get SSH to authenticate me?

Hi,
can you please paste your AAA configuration here.

I changed the AAA config and it works. No local authenciation was defined, and that's why I could not SSH.
I guess the real question is what does ASDM use for authentication when no local authentication is defined?

Hi,
The command for ASDM is as follows:
aaa authentication http console
server-tag is external aaa-server.
Hope this helps.
