I'm trying to setup my PIX 501 to work with my cable modem but I'm not able to get access webpages. My PC pulls a DHCP address from the PIX and my PIX appears to be pulling a IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway address from the cable company. Below is my Pix's config so if anyone can see what I'm doing wrong I'd be greatfull.
Also a side question, everything I've read says to use the cross-over cable to connect the PIX directly to the outside interface of the calbe modem, but when I do that I don't show any lights on the outside interface. Am I suppose use the cross over cable?

Hi,
The config looks fine to me. What is the issue? are you not able to get to any Web page? can you get to any page by ip address? can you try to access cisco's web site using http://198.133.219.25
Are you atlteast able to ping your PIX inside interface? are you getting DNS addresses?
Thanks
Nadeem

I change the config a bit and added the DNS entries of my ISP and I'm able to reslove webpages now. However a new problem came up was with the speed. With the PIX in place my cable modem speed dropped to that of a 56K dail up. Any ideas on that??
Thanks

could you please check the output of "show interface" and "show cpu" and "show conn count"
Thanks

Try interface ethernet1 10full instead of 100full.
