Can you tell me what FMC's /var/run/rpc.statd.pid file is doing?
admin@vFMC3:/var/run$ ls -al
-rw-r--r-- 1 998 997 0 Feb 7 05:36 rpc.statd.pid

If i remember correctly it is tied to a process that tracks network file system (NFS). A quick google search indicates it is not directly tied into the operation of the FMC unless you are using NFS for something. I still would not recommend deleting it if that is what you are thinking about. I do not know what affect deleting this file will have on the system.

A *pid file usually only contains the numeric process-ID (PID) of a running program. Why delete it ?
