cannot add ASA firepower to management center

hi,

I'm configuring an asa 5515-x with firepower services now I wanted to add it to manager unfortunately I have updated the sfr module to 6.0.1 but I have installed management center version 6.0.0 vm. now I have to upgrade it to 6.0.1 but I can not find the proper update package for it. Actually I found some packages in these addresses:

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286271171&flowid=77243&softwareid=286306337&release=6.0.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286261232&flowid=73882&softwareid=286271056&release=6.0.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

but it does not respond to the update and same or similar messages appear in the console:

No valid appliances available for Sourcefire 3D Defense Center S3 Hotfix K 6.0.0.2-3

This update is intended for software versions greater than or equal to 6.0.0.1 and less than 6.0.0.2-3

Can anyone help me through this? Am I using the wrong vm? or should I install the iso one from scratch?

Upgrade your FirePOWER Management Center using the file "Sourcefire_3D_Defense_Center_S3_Upgrade-6.0.1-1214.sh".

You would first download that file from cisco.com to your PC and then upload it onto FMC.

FTD is a brand new OS type that is merging FirePOWER and ASA in one code base. It won't have full feature parity with the base ASA software for a year to more.

You should only be using it if:

a. You have a license for it and

b. You understand what features it doesn't yet have and don't need them now.

Re the file images - several were withdrawn on Friday pending rebuilds to address a critical vulnerability. They're back up now.

Thank you for responding, it is interesting that the file you mentioned was not available through software.cisco.com since yesterday (only through sourcefire). Thank you for support.

ok now it's getting a little confusing, what is the difference between firepower services software and firepower threat defense software in this page:

https://software.cisco.com/download/type.html?mdfid=286271171&flowid=77243

Are they alternative softwares for sfr module? or threat defense software is meant to be installed as firepower management center software?

Recently Cisco is providing bad documentation about it's firewalls and there so many confusing changes.

I'll appreciate if you help.

So if I upgrade my firesight management center to Sourcefire_3D_Defense_Center_S3_Upgrade-6.0.1-1214.sh, then can I add my firepower software to it or I should upgrade my ASA to threat defense software too?
