Cisco ASA 5500 - UDP Packet Fragmentation - Traffic Dropped

Hello folks,

Any ideas as to why traffic is being dropped on the firewall when communicating inter-vlan with highly fragmented UDP traffic?

This is traffic destined towards an archiving cluster and when source file is above a certain size (1Mb) the file cannot transfer.

I cannot ajust the UDP segment size from the source server nor are there any extra layer 3 hops in the network that would require a certain MTU size.

I'm at a bit of a loss, considering that being UDP traffic, the normalization engine is not being used on the firewall.

Thank you,

Martin
