Cisco ASA 5506-x FirePower Module

TAC-itsupport

We just bought a whole set of ASA 5506-x w/firepower + security licenses from a trusted vendor, but it's look like this version (9.12) does not support Firepower!!

Of course we want to use the latest images due to feature and of course security reasons - so not giving us for what we paid without any notification is not the best behavior! This is ridiculous. Why continue to sell the 5506X if the Firepower module isn't supported in the latest IOS versions? What would you think? downgrade to 9 or we have to consider replacing again in order to stay up to date?

Thanks

Personally ASA getting fade from market, new is Firepower (aka FTD) NGFW

If you replacing Look for FP 1XXX or 2XXX model depends on requirement:

If you looking to work with exiting delivery look for compatable matrix :

Also Look 5506-X  EOL :

They advised you poorly by selling you a device that is right at its end of sales date. The ASA 5506 is not a wise investment at this point in time.

As @balaji.bandi mentioned, the Firepower 1010 would be the more appropriate device at this time.

probably wise not to continue with that vendor. they shouldn't sell a device that's already EOL.

they probably just want to liquidate their ASA 5506 stocks.
