Hello everyone ,

We have a deployment where we have 2 Cisco ASA 5516 with FTD Image installed as HA Pair on

Firepower Management Center and we need to replace them due to an RMA .

We wander what are the steps to accomplished the replacement with the minimum downtime .

From documentation we have not managed to understand the standard procedure in order to accomplished that .

Has someone perform something similar in order to give us a walkthrough how to replace 2 FW with the minimum downtime ?

Thank You ,

Why don't you replace one at a time. Make sure that replication is
completed and the standby in ready state then replace the other unit.

You can verify the status of HA using command show failover. If the standby
is ready then you can replace the other unit and will have zero downtime

You can replace first the standby one so that the configuration of active one will be replicate to the new box.

Once done, do a failover and replace the other one. Thanks
