Can someone please tell me if it is possible to create sub-interface port channels on an ASA 5525? Here is the output I get which would lead me to believe that I can, but it is still not letting me:
ASA-GW(config)# sh run int po1
!
interface Port-channel1
no nameif
no security-level
no ip address
ASA-GW(config)# int port-channel 1?
configure mode commands/options:
. : <1-48>
ASA-GW(config)# int port-channel 1.?
configure mode commands/options:
<1-4294967295> Port-channel interface number
ASA-GW(config)# int port-channel 1.6?
configure mode commands/options:
<1-4294967295>
ASA-GW(config)# int port-channel 1.6 ?
ERROR: % Unrecognized command
ASA-GW(config)# int port-channel 1.6
^
ERROR: % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
I am able to do this without any issues on 5515's, but not on these 5525's. I am running on code version 9.0(3). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well I figured it out and I feel very dumb. You have to assign the port-channel to an interface before you can create the port-channel sub-interfaces. Anyone have any idea why it would need to be done in that order?

Hi,
It is most probably because the Bundling of the Physical interfaces is mandatory before making changes to the port Channel interface itself.,
