Hello,
I have installed 3 cisco asa 5525-x. One of these has the alarm led on. I take a look in the troubleshooting guide and I found to run show environment and
show controller pci.
Everything seems ok with this command.
The firewall is working but I would like to understand if there is some problem (hardware or software).
OS version is 9.
Can someone help me in suggesting other command to run?
Thanks
Alessandra

Hi,
I have the same problem too. But from my understanding
you should have dual power supplies. If you have just one, install the redundant power supply and test.
and check what type of PCI card you installed. blank module or something with cable?
I did these and then the alarm went off.
Thanks

I am having the the same issue with a Cisco ASA 5512-X.
The alarm LED is solid amber. The commands "show environment" and "show controller pci" are all ok.
We also have two Cisco ASA 5515-X in active/active multiple-context mode, their alarm LED is off.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
This may be because of IPS issue.
Please check:
sh module ips det
Thanks

I don't know if this is a question for me. But in my case we don't have IPS, if I run the command "show module module ips detect" I get the following output:
HOSTNAME(config)# sh module ips details
Getting details from the Service Module, please wait...

HI
If this device is in production, please arrange a downtime and unplug the power and wait for 30 sec, then power on the device again.
If this works then there may be was a false alarm was on.
Please share the update.
Thanks

That did not fix the problem. This is a brand new ASA laying on my desk serveral times. It has been shutdown multiple times to store it for the evening. The alarm LED is still there.

try installing an ASA-IC-B-BLANK (the one with a regex ribbon cable). Had a similar problem and that was the solution.

Does anyone know where the ASA PCI ribbon cable can be purchased from?
This seems to be cause of the alarm. After checking there was a slite cut on ribbon cable not making the full connection, after removing and boot. Alarm came up. Per sh controller pci details.
"1.) System is not fully operational - The PCI device with vendor ID: 1x1000 (LSI) device ID: 0x0a0 (Accelerator) could not be found in the system.
Thisnisnthe ribbon cable that connectes the accelerator board infront of the unit with the pci plane addon.
