Hello,
I have a server in a remote site connected via S2S-VPN to the main office. Sometimes when a User is transfering a large file the bandwidth usage is up to 100%. This causes that the communication to the server is slow. I'm new to configuring things like QoS and priority in ASA. So I'm searching for a solution that priorizes the communication to the server. I'v read an article about QoS and priority. But I'm not 100% sure if my thoughts are right.
One way would be to restrict web traffic to some kbits, which is not my intention. So I think priority is the right way to go. When I create a new service policy rule in ASDM like this, will this work?
Interface: Inside: Traffic matches -> Source - Destination -> Client-LAN to Server -> Any protocoll -> Action -> QoS -> Enable Priority for this flow
My understanding is that with this rule the traffic to the server has a higher priority in the queue and will be processed faster than web traffic or any other traffic. Am I right or will my thoughts not work?
Thanks for your help.
Greetings
Christian
