Hello everyone,
is it possible to upgrade Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software from Version 8.6(1)2 to 9.6.1.
The 9.6.1 release does not have release notes included on Cisco website as per screenshot.
Thank in advance for any suggestions.

You are good with the hardware. You can easily upgrade using the ASDM as long as you stick to the upgrade path given in the release notes. My suggestion would to be have CLI as backup in case ASDM stops working after an upgrade.

Release notes below:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa96/release/notes/asarn96.html#ID-2152-0000000a
You would first need to upgrade from 8.6(1) to 9.0(2), 9.0(3) or 9.0(4) before going to 9.6(1).
Also what ASA hardware is this?

The hardware is as follows:
Hardware: ASA5512, 4096 MB RAM, CPU Clarkdale 2793 MHz, 1 CPU (2 cores)
ASA: 2048 MB RAM, 1 CPU (1 core)
Can I perform the upgrade via ASDM or CLI is recommended?
Thank you for rapid response

Hi, say me pls, my ASA is follows:
Hardware: ASA5525, 8192 MB RAM, CPU Lynnfield 2394 MHz, 1 CPU (4 cores)
ASA: 4096 MB RAM, 1 CPU (1 core)
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.6(1)1

Can I upgrade to 9.0(2) or 9.0.(6) version?

@tabriz.khaligov your ASA 5525 hardware will support ASA version 9.0.(2) or 9.0(6) and versions up to ASA 9.14. However 9.0(2) or 9.0(6) is not available for download on the Cisco website, only versions 9.12.x or 9.14.x
