Cisco ASA5505 licensed host limit was exceeded

Hello Sir,

I am receiving syslog message - licensed host limit was exceeded.

Deny traffic for protocol 6 src outside:69.162.124.231/7086 dst inside:out-252/80, licensed host limit of 10 exceeded.

Also please clarify me what is inside host license ?

What does it mean?

Please help us to understand this issue.

Do we need to buy extra license for the same?

This is just a very old gimmick from Cisco.

Basically on the 5505 only you could use the box with a limited no of users in LAN.

Your box can accommodate up to 10 users. You can buy up to 50 users or unlimited LAN license, although you will hit the hardware limit this time.
