When running ASA on Cisco Firepower 2100 series appliance.
Default mode for 2100 is appliance mode, its like inbuilt FXOS. In 2100 ASA and FXOS operating systems share the same Management Interface.
The query I have is around the the image and the hardware. I understand the image which I can order with the hardware is cisco-asa-fp2k.9.13.1.SPA. The hardware seems to have
Two SSD slots (100GB each). Unit ships with one 100GB SSD installed with the other slot reserved for the Malware Storage Pack - In case of 2110 & 2120
Two SSD slots (200GB each). Unit ships with one 200GB SSD installed with the other slot reserved for the Malware Storage Pack - In case of 2130 & 2140
Do these only get ordered when the image is FTD on the appliance as it is a FTD image feature only? How can i confirm this ?
In other words when ordering ASA OS that will be run on the Firepower what happens to the above mentioned Two SSD slots on the various models ?

Whether you initially order the Firepower 2100 series appliance with ASA or FTD image it will always include the default first SSD (100 or 200 GB according to model as you noted). This can be seen in the detailed bill of materials generated by the Cisco ordering tool and should also be shown on any quote received by an end customer.
If you order with FTD image, the Cisco ordering tool gives us the option of adding the second SSD which is only used for Malware storage.
If you order with ASA image the second SSD is not presented as an option in the ordering tool since it is not possible to use it with ASA image running on the appliance.
If you later convert the appliance from ASA to FTD (by purchasing the necessary licenses and changing the support contract), you can order the second SSD separately "a la carte".
