Cisco FMC Deployment on a remote location for FPR2110 FTD Management

Hi All,

We are deploying FPR 2110 - FTD in an HA mode. FMC is to be installed for the deployment and further management of FPR2110 units.
We are in a situation where we might have to install FMC on a remote location which is connected via 20Mbps Layer 2 link.

There are few concerns that need to be addressed in order to proceed with this plan accordingly.

1- Is this connectivity feasible ?
2- Will the difference in Link speed between FMC to Nexus (20 Mbps) and FPR2110 to Nexus ( 1Gbps ) affect the connectivity ?
3- Is there any limitation in this connectivity for management ? or during the deployment ?

It's feasible. I assume the links from FTD pair to Nexus in your diagram are the management/event interfaces.

The connection between FMC and the FTD pair is for management and events. Normally around 256 kbps suffices for that. (Though more helps when deploying upgrades - 6.2.3 introduced a new push option to help with that.)

Hi Marvin,

Thank you for the detailed response, You assumed right that the connectivity between FTD pair and Nexus are Mgmt/Event interfaces in the diagram.

Best Regards.
