Cisco FMC SFP+

We are installing an FMC 4000 into our network and wanted to use the 10 gbt ports on the chassis.  We have some SFP-10G-SR sfp+ modules that we wanted to use.  Can we use them for the FMC 4000?  Are there specific sfp+ modules that we need to use?

Hello Drew,

"FS4K-NIC-SFP" Cisco FMC 10 Gbps Ethernet SFP SR is the specisfic SFP compatible with FMC 4000 which I am getting while configuring in CCW tool.

For more information you can see below url for COnfiguration examples and Guides.

Hope to help.

do you know if CISCO SFP-10G-SR++= will work? Also are there config guides?

You have to use the FS4k-NIC-SFP part number mentioned earlier.

See the hardware installation guide which states:

SFP+ management interfaces—If your model provides 10-Gigabit SFP+ interfaces, install any supported SFP/SFP+ cables and transceiver modules you need in the appropriate network interfaces.

Each Cisco-certified SFP+ transceiver module has an internal serial EEPROM that is encoded with security information. This encoding allows us to identify and validate that the SFP module meets the requirements for the Firepower Management Center.

Caution

Only the SFP+ transceiver modules offered by the Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) ordering tool are compatible with the 10-Gigabit interfaces (FS2K-NIC-SFP/FS4K-NIC-SFP).

Funny thing to noticed that these NIC's are INTEL SFP+ and not Cisco. So on the other side of the cable you propably need to order Cisco SFP's for your Cisco switches.
